Hush Wall Piece

Hush is a UK based street artist enthralled with the collision of East and Western cultures. When he isn’t painting outdoors, he uses a combination of collage, screen print, and aerosol paint to build up his canvases. He then references the ephemeral quality of street art by breaking down his own piece and then building it back up again in a series of layers, creating a visual timeline of sorts. Below is an example of Hush in action on an exterior surface, something we hope to catch while he is in San Francisco this May. His solo show, Passing Through, opens at The Shooting Gallery on May 1, 2010. Don’t miss the chance to meet Hush in person because Newcastle is a long long way from here!
