New Video for “Island of the Colorblind” (Colin M. Day)

Colin M. Day recently presented us with his video for Paul Chatem’s Island of the Colorblind exhibition at Shooting Gallery, which will be up until May 7th! Still pictures cannot capture the full essence of Chatem’s work, and we are so glad to have Colin’s video highlight the interaction of the changing imagery painted on wooden wheels. The movement of the interlocking pieces transports you into a mesmerizing visual experience, and hearing Chatem discuss his use of symbols from a depression-era hobo lexicon, and his artistic struggle with colorblindness, sheds a fascinating light on his work.
